Fulton Beer Starts Up (and Then Parks) Its Own Food Truck

Food trucks are nomads. They come and go freely, changing their location with rapid (and sometimes maddening) frequency. Their fast-moving nature is part of their appeal, but if you’re a brewery taproom depending upon their help to supply the food part of the food-plus-beer combination that customers love so much, you might just want to bank on something more predictable...

Beer makes you hungry. Food makes you thirsty. If ever there were a happy marriage based on true, reciprocal love, it is this.

Which is why you can hardly visit a taproom in the Twin Cities without spying a food truck idling nearby. That's the way it's been at Fulton Brewing in the North Loop for years -- until now...

MINNEAPOLIS -- Fulton Taproom in the North Loop will soon be serving its own food out of a refurbished Airstream.

Starting Tuesday, the taproom kitchen will be open for business.

"Food trucks have played a huge role in what the taproom's done to date and we just wanted to kind of take that to the next level by bringing the food in-house," said Jim Diley, Fulton Brewing's chief operating officer...

(Minneapolis, MN) – Fulton Beer pleased to announce a new development that is debuting at our taproom Tuesday, September 19th: the Fulton Taproom Kitchen! Those of you who have visited our taproom are probably wondering how we managed to fit a kitchen into our building. Well, we didn’t – we drove one in and parked it out front. What? How? We purchased and renovated a 30 foot 1968 Airstream Sovereign trailer into a kitchen...

Fulton Brewing will add its own food service to its North Loop Tap room, and it's recruiting a well-known Twin Cities chef to make it happen.

Mpls.St. Paul Magazine reports on the plans by Fulton and its new executive chef Scott Pampuch, the original chef and owner at Corner Table.

Next Tuesday, the Fulton Brewery taproom in North Loop will have a shiny new kitchenparked out front, and a shiny new chef parked inside. The crew has hired on chef Scott Pampuch to be their full-time executive chef, and they've tricked out an Airstream trailer to create a full-time year round kitchen at the taproom. There's porchetta on a vertical roaster. Felt like you should know that up front.

Fulton Taproom has added a permanent food truck to its existing menu options and landed Scott Pampuch as the chef to oversee the operation of a converted Airstream trailer-housed kitchen. Fulton Brewery was one of the first in Minneapolis to open a taproom back in 2012. Since then, the brewery, started by Ryan Petz, Jim Diley, Brian Hoffman and Peter Grande has expanded, adding a larger brewing site in 2014. Since that time, Fulton has continued to operate the wildly popular taproom at the edge of downtown Minneapolis, a stone’s throw of Target Field...

It's kind of like going home for this crew. I personally remember wandering into Corner Table when it was under the original ownership of Scott Pampuch, and seeing a well-fed boisterous table of what would become Fulton Brewing. It was their neighborhood clubhouse as they plotted and planned their future beerisphere. So it makes total sense that Pampuch is now, officially, one of the gang. He's been hired as the full-time Executive Chef of Fulton Brewing and he's got a shiny new kitchen to play with...

Though summer may be winding to a close, it’s not too late to slide up to the bar and savor one of the most sessionable beer styles of the season: gose. A beer variety that originated in Germany, goses are expertly fermented to achieve a slightly sour and salty taste, making for a lighter beer that still packs flavor.

Check out these six drinkable goses, which you can find on tap at craft breweries across the heartland.
